Advanced Open Water

The Advanced Open Water certification is the next step after finishing entry level scuba training. It is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your instructor. This course builds on the Open Water course and begins where that course left off.

  • PADI Open Water Diver rating, or an equivalent certification from another training agency
  • Be at least 12 years of age

Course Structure

  • Knowledge Development: You will learn about the practical and physiological aspects of deep diving, how to better plan dives, and more about under navigation.
  • Adventure Dives: You will broaden your dive experience with a deep dive, underwater navigation dive, and three more speciality dives (out of 15 possible) of your choosing. These dives can be used towards speciality ratings as well.

After You’re Certified

You will be able to participate in more advanced speciality classes such as ice diver and search and recovery diver. More importantly, however, you will be a better diver and more comfortable in the water with your improved skill set.
